Centre Maison Dieu Silent Retreat Centre is a place set apart which strives to foster a new monasticism. It is for those who are pilgrims and seekers, searching for silence and renewal.
The site covers some forty acres, located at 52203 Range Road 61, Rural Parkland County, Alberta (approximately 10 km. south of Seba Beach, Alberta). There is one lovely cottage available, La Cellule, self-catering and giving full privacy. A bed-sitting room is also available with private bathroom and access to a kitchenette. A small Church building on the property presently serves “pilgrims.” A small chapel in the basement walk-in level of the main house, St. Mary Magdalene Chapel, is available as well. Reverend Trudeau presides at services held in both.
The hope is that individuals will take intentional time to be alone for a period of time conducive to true reflection — a time of refreshment and renewal. There are trails on the property on which to walk, think, and pray. Reverend Trudeau is available for those needful of spiritual direction. We recognize that each person arrives with their own needs for spiritual nourishment, at times largely unaware of how deep that need is. We offer solitude as needed and support when sought.
We welcome pilgrims to Centre Maison Dieu: to walk trails, for a time of peace, relaxation, and introspection. Birders and mycophiles are welcome, as are those who simply need green space and silence. Because of other pilgrims, there is need to contact us first.
